Senator Manny Pacquiao expresses anger and gives statement regarding the alleged corruption happening in PhilHealth.

Meanwhile, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Dante Gierran is the newly assigned CEO of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), after the former president Ricardo Morales has resigned due to his medical condition.

After Gierran has been assigned, Senator Kiko Pangilinan stated that Gierran appointment is questionable points over his qualification.

Recently, Philhealth faces an anomaly that involves Php 15 billion of funds after someone revealed it. And that issue saddened Senator Manny Pacquiao. Due to that, Senator Pacquiao expressed his disappointment about this.

He is angry over the fact that while he’s spending his personal money to help other people, the money for the people is being stolen by the officials. He expressed, “Nagagalit ako kasi ako, kahit sarili kong pera ginagastos ko sa taong bayan tapos ‘yung pera para sa mahihirap ninanakaw.”

He also shared his pieces of sentiments to resigned PhilHealth chief indicating that he was put in the position to avoid corruption and should have acted upon it and not just reason out “Yan na kasi ang kinagisnan noong umupo ako.”
