DFA confirms 18 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad, bringing the total to 9,710. Meanwhile, 5,756 recovered from the virus and 703 died. DOH reports 3,379 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total tally to 122,754. Recoveries reach 66,852 with 96 additional survivors while death toll hits 2,168 with 24 more succumbing to the disease.

According to DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #146, “As of 4 PM today, August 07, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 122,754. A total of 3,379 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 89 out of 99 current operational labs. DOH likewise announces 96 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 66,852.”
However, Coronavirus task force spokesperson Harry Roque dismisses reports that the Philippines has overtaken Indonesia in terms of having the highest number of COVID-19 cases in South East Asia, saying they’re ‘not conclusive’ because the latter has conducted fewer tests than the former.
