Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo shows her undying love and support for ABS-CBN network after the renewal of franchise has been denied by the lawmakers on Friday.
As the giant TV network main broadcast platform shuts down, it has put thousands of jobs at risk.
Meanwhile, on Instagram account of actress Kathryn Bernardo, she shared a photo of herself with boyfriend Daniel Padilla outside the ABS-CBN compound.
Bernardo had this touching message for the company that built and made her who she is now, she said: “Ang dami mong pinagdaanan nitong mga nakaraang buwan. Ang daming sumubok sa ‘yo— nangmaliit at kumutya. Pero hindi ka sumuko. Nandito ka pa rin, patuloy na nagbibigay ng pag-asa sa aming lahat.”
The actress promised the network that she will never leave it during its trying times; “Kami naman ngayon, hayaan mong kami ang magbigay ng liwanag sa ‘yo sa panahong pinaka-kailangan mo kami.”
“Hindi pa dito nagtatapos ang lahat. Hindi ka namin iiwan hanggang sa makabangon ka muli. Magpakatatag ka. Kakayanin natin ‘to nang magkakasama.”
The actress closed her message with a firm declaration of her love for her home network. “Mahal kita, ABS-CBN. Tandaan mo ‘yan,” she wrote.
Aside from Bernardo, many other celebrities have gone to social media to express their support for the broadcast giant after what happened last Friday.
Some were bold in condemning the House committee decision blocking ABS-CBN’s franchise application amid concerns about media freedom under President Rodrigo Duterte, who critics have scored for authoritarian policies.
