A rising Danish singer, Maximillian’s song went viral in the Philippines. The song had very relatable lyrics and was focused on “embracing your flaws”.
On Maximillian’s phone interview with Music Geek he said, “That’s unbelievable. My mind is just blown. It’s great to see that I have so many fans in the Philippines and I love every single one of you. It’s crazy ‘coz you know I’m from a small Danish country and people from that side of the world are listening to my music. It is showing on Spotify page. I love it! It’s insane! I’m so grateful.”
He explained that he was inspired to write the song based on his on experience during his teenage times. “The song describes the feeling that I was going through as a kid and growing into my teenage years and how I cope with all sorts of problems.”
“I had a difficult time growing up because I hung out with some wrong people and I had issues at home with my parents who were fighting a lot then. I wasn’t good at school either and everything caved down on me. I hit rock bottom at a very young age.”
He realized what he wanted to become as a person and later on started making the right decisions. “I focused more on myself instead of thinking what everybody else thought about me. Doing that, I came to a realization when I was 19 that if I hadn’t been through all these things at a very young age, I wouldn’t be the same guy I am today.”
He was grateful for his experiences, “Instead of hiding all the flaws and pretending to be someone I’m not, I’ve figured out showing my beautiful scars is how I’m happy all the time. And that’s basically what the song is about.” Maximillian stated.
He also revealed later with the interview that he usually write songs based on his personal experiences.
