The 9.7 million senior citizens will receive their six months of pension in advance this April.

Based on the ABS-CBN report, the 6 months in advanced pension for the senior citizens aim to help the elders manage to survive during this lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, Senior Citizens Party-list Rep. Francisco Datol Jr. said.

The Luzon lockdown will be until April 30.

Datol also requested that pension payment in advance last month from the President Roderigo Duterte. And then on Tuesday, the DSWD notified him that his request was approved and that the funds were downloaded to its LandBank.

Also, the social welfare department would release the pension that about 3.7 million failed to receive last year,

So far there are 349 fatalities and 353 recoveries.  The death toll has risen to 335 while the total number of infections nationwide leaped to 5,223.
