Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will have it address the public on Monday.
This is after two weeks since the President placed the entire Luzon under enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Salvador Panelo, the Presidential spokesperson said that President Duterte will address the public on Monday, “He will have a televised message today tentatively set at 4:00 pm,” Panelo told reporters via text message.
Currently, the Philippines has reported 1,418 cases of COVID-19 and 71 of whom have died of the disease while 42 had recovered.
Novel coronavirus was first detected in Hubei, China and has infected over 720,000 worldwide, with 34,000 of whom have died, while, almost 152,000 patients were able to recover.
Recalling, the President placed the entire Luzon under an enhanced community quarantine on March 16. This force the half of the country to observe home quarantine. Which made the government decide that lockdown is the solution because the infection might reach 75, 000 cases in the Philippines in three months if the virus will not be prevented.
