BREAKING NEWS: Diocese of Rome Orders Shut Down of Churches and Suspend All Masses Amid Coronavirus Fears

For safety measure of the faithful Catholic Christians, all Catholic churches in Rome will be closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The announcement was made by Cardinal Angelo de Donatis, the Pope’s vicar for the diocese of Rome. Stating that all the Catholic churches in Rome will be closed until April 3, 2020.

During the Italian Bishops’ Conference, the declaration for all public celebrations of Mass was declared but advisory also stated they the churches is open at a certain time to give way everyone for personal prayer and Eucharistic adoration.

The report said, that the decision for closing the Catholic churches Mass in Rome was coming from Cardinal Angelo de Donatis as he made confirmation for the March 8 decree intending to suspend Masses which also include of closing the churches.

The proclamation also noted that the use of the churches continues only for regular religious orders attached to them, i.e. monks and nuns living in community.

Meanwhile, in some provinces in northern Italy, there are various dioceses who have also suspended public religious services while restaurants, shops, bars, gymnasiums and other businesses continue open for regular service.Report said, that there was an octogenarian priest reported to civic authorities for conducting Sunday Mass. Catholic believers believed that they have no internet or may have not received a advisory from the diocese about suspension of public Masses which effective immediately upon announcement.
