The YouTube channel of the former senator is TRx or Trillanes Explains. In his video, he introduced himself as citizen Sonny., Prof. Sonny or Simply Sonny.

The former senator term already ended and he then decided to teach at the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) in Diliman, Quezon City.

He decided to enter vlogging to continue his Magdalo advocacy against corruption and government reform.

Being a top critic of the administration, he shared to us his vlog which was set aside due to the distraction made by Duterte Administration. , “Marami tayong very interesting exposés. Ito ay mabibigat na mga issue na hindi napansin dahil nga si Duterte ay may paraan para i-distract at linlangin ang publiko. Dito sa vlog natin, hihimay-himayin natin isa-isa ito.”
