“Hugs for the Philippines” is the title of video that went viral in YouTube and other social media like Facebook and Twitter. The video posted on November 17, 2013, showing the purpose of the two gentlemen bringing scratch cardboard box with the words written therein saying “Hugs for the Philippines,” Typhon Haiyan Relief,” at “1 hug = we donate $1.”

Along the long lines from the comments below this video in YouTube, many have appreciated the initiative of these two Asian profile gentlemen.

As we can see the video, two gentlemen in the crowded street of San Francisco, California bringing the banner from the scratch cardboard box with the campaign written “Hugs for the Philippines” Typhon Haiyan Relief,” at “1 hug = we donate $1.” These two guys are counting the hugs, and in every hugs they got they have to pay $1. As we noticed somebody hugs and extend the money to them.

In the middle portion of the video one of the two gentlemen with the banner in his hand said “So far, we have 36 hugs, so that’s 36 dollar we are donating.

Actually, a couple of people gave us money…$8 so we got $44, we’re gonna donate so far.”

At the last portion of the video the gentleman speak again that they’re going to increase the amount per hug, instead of $1 they will make it $5 per hug.

“So we’ve got a total of 62 hugs, also got $25 in donation, which we’ll be donating to the Red Cross for Philippines… so it’s a very successful day.”

These men continues what they are doing until they got $335 which is equivalent to P15,000. This amount is equal to the amount reflected to the website of Philippine Red Cross. This only proved that they are sincere to what they are doing.

The video account belongs to “GiveLiveIspire” describing their group as average guy who tried to help. They don’t even publicize their personality, but by subscribing them, you are helping them to their mission of helping the needy people.
