ABS-CBN Carlo Katigbak Verifies He approached GMA first for It’s Showtime revealed that he approached  GMA first through GMA Network Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President of GMA Films, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes for It’s Showtime. 

Due to ABS-CBN refused to accept the afternoon time slot provided to It’s Showtime because it is a noontime show beloved by supporters, the media company found a new home.

Annette Gozon-Valdes revealed that GMA was called initially by the Kapamilya network.

The contract between GMA and ABS-CBN was signed on June 28. Carlo Katigbak revealed during the press conference that he approached GMA to see whether it might find a new home for It’s Showtime, in GMA Entertainment.

“So nu’ng nabalitaan namin na gustong ilipat ang timeslot ng It’s Showtime, tinawagan namin si Annette para pag-usapan ang posibilidad na mabigyan ng bagong tahanan ang aming programa. After that, in just less than two weeks, we were again welcomed to [GMA],” the ABS-CBN executive revealed.
