Members of the K-pop female group known for the song “BBoom BBoom” announced their disbandment on Instagram with handwritten letters. They’ve been apart for almost six years.

Nancy, Ahin, Jane, JooE, Hyebin, and Nayun turned to social media to publish the same statement confirming the disbandment, apologizing and thanking their fans, and requesting Merries’ continuing support while the members pursue individual careers.

The ladies expressed their gratitude to their fans for “providing us with precious memories and being by our side for the last seven years,” emphasizing that “our Merries have been everything to us and always will be.”

MOMOLAND’s disbandmentt happened less than a month after the group’s former agency, MLD Entertainment, stated that the six members’ contracts had expired and that they had opted not to renew them.

The K-pop group was established in 2016 through the reality talent competition “Finding Momoland,” and was known for the global successes “BBoom BBom” and “BAAM.” It had nine members at one time before the departures of Yeonwoo and Taeha in late 2019 and Daisy in early 2020.
