Six individuals were killed and two others were injured after their vehicle crashed down a 100-meter-deep ravine in Besao, Mountain Province, on Thursday.
According to reports on Friday, the event occurred in Barangay Cabengan. According to the report, the Tamaraw FX van’s occupants ranged in age from 17 to 21 years old, according to Cordillera Police Office spokeswoman Police Captain Marnie Abellanida.
An initial police investigation revealed that the victims were traveling from Ilocos Sur when the van they were riding in crashed into a 100-meter-deep ravine, according to the report, adding that the incident could have been caused by heavy rains that were falling in the area at the time of the collision.
According to police, all of the fatalities have been identified, save for six who were confirmed dead on the scene and two who were injured and brought to a local hospital.
