Novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic disease that we are fighting now. Many lives are wasted because of this deadly disease. And last Thursday night, another life was claimed as one of the police officer died due to COVID-19, PNP Gen. Archie Gamboa said.
On an interview on DzBB Gamboa said, “Last night, we lost one. Namatayan kami ng isang positive he was not able to survive it,”
However, Gamboa did not disclose further details about the death of the police officer.
Based on the PNP chief, he assured that every police personnel are provided with vitamins and protective gear while on duty during the COVID-19 crisis.
He said, “These are sad stories on the part of PNP but nevertheless we have to do our duty on running the risk of being infected.”
He added, “Kami we give our policemen our personal protective equipment. Para mapangalagaan, nagbibigay kami ng vitamins at inayos namin shifting para makapagpahinga sila.”
Based on the latest data from PNP, they showed that there are 13 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the police force of the Philippines.
Also, 182 police personnel are considered as persons under investigation while 1,545 others are persons under monitoring.
Recently, the Philippines is having 2,633 confirmed coronavirus cases and a death toll of 63 with 472 total patients recovered.
