The Fabunan family of doctors becomes the most talked issue on social media following after the rumored that the Fabunan Antiviral Injection (FAI) is a cure of a novel coronavirus or COVID-19 disease.

According to his personal interview, Fabunan has tested the FAI to a COVID-19 patient and recovered.

Many Filipinos believed that the FAI could be the answer of the pandemic problem that infected more than 3-million people and killed 212,498 worldwide as of writing.

In the world of social media, hundreds of thousands people in the online world expressed appreciation and support to the Filipino scientists from which the interest of knowing them excites everyone to know more about these genius doctors behind the FAI invention?

Who is Doctor Fabunan?

According to the source from the Facebook Page of InfoCebu, it says the following about him…

• Dr. Fabunan is not a ‘quack’ doctor. He completed his BS Pre-Med at the University of the Philippines and graduated at Southwestern University, Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine in Cebu in 1973.
• He is a research scientist and drug designer who invented the Fabunan Antiviral Injection for HIV/AIDS, influenza and dengue fever – the US patent of which was issued on January 9, 2001.
• He also invented the Envenomation Antidote for snake bite catfish sting and other animal poisons – US patent issued on February 20, 1996.
• Dr. Fabunan is a recipient of the First Place Award in Biotechnology, for his “Poison Antidote” at the Invention Convention in 1997 at Pasadena, California, USA.

The post of the Facebook Page also noted that we have nothing to lose if we explore further, for all we know, the long awaited Coronavirus antidote might just be hiding in plain sight, discovered by somebody educated in Cebu!

However, the post also notified that there are at least two (2) prominent Fabunan doctors behind the invention. The older is Ruben Fabunan brother. He is the one holding the U.S. patents and currently residing in the U.S.A. He graduated in Southwestern University in 1973, while his younger brother, Dr. Willie Fabunan, is the one operating the Fabunan Medical Clinic in Luzon. Doc Willie, whose picture appears below graduated in Cebu Doctors College of Medicine in 1981.
