JUST IN: DOH Reports 35th COVID-19 Filipino Patient Died, No Travel History

The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 the death of the 35th patient of coronavirus confined at Manila Doctors Hospital.

“The reported death is the patient with ID PH35 confined at the Manila Doctors Hospital in Manila City,” read the statement.

According to the report published by the Inquirer.net, the DOH is referring to a 67-year-old, Filipino and a number 35 patient of coronavirus died in the hospital and record traced with no travel history.

Report also said that the patient tested positive of coronavirus when he was admitted to the hospital but succumb on Wednesday due to the said disease.

The death of the 67-year-old Filipino patient is the second recorded fatality in the country with no travel history. While the first death of coronavirus in the Philippines was recorded by the DOH to a 44-year-old Chinese man from the mainland China admitted to San Lazaro Hospital in Manila. His death was also the first recorded death outside China.

Since then, the Office of the President implemented ravel ban to China, Hong Kong and Macau.

As of Mach 12, 2020, the department of health confirmed 49 cases of COVID-19 in the country.

As of writing, there is no further information from the DOH about the death of the Filipino patient. We will be updating this page soon.
