Bacolod City Inter-Agency Task Force spokesperson, Dr. Grace Tan stated that there are 23 persons under monitoring (PUMs) for coronavirus disease (Covid-19). The announcement was made during a press conference at the Bacolod Government Center Monday afternoon, March 9, 2020.

BREAKING NEWS: Bacolod City has one (1) Patient Under Investigation (PUI) for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
According to DR. Tan, there are only 20 PMUs have been reported but there three other persons added on their watch lists. This 23 person is still under monitoring and there is no patient yet were positive of Covid-19.
The 23 (PUMs) are all residents of Bacolod City that have a history of travel from China, Morocco, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, and Thailand. They have all voluntarily come to the City Health Office (CHO) to inform their concern for immediate action.
“These people are being monitored and we also ask their cooperation to avoid travel so that they will be contained if ever they develop a symptom,” said Dr. Grace Tan.
A 14-day home quarantine is to be implemented and some of them already set to finish the quarantine period, said Sunstar News.
Dr. Tan noted to the public not to panic and advise to make sure do the preventive measures as stated below:
- Frequent handwashing with soap
- Avoid unnecessary contact between the hand and mouth & Nose
- Eat well-cooked meat & egg or avoid them
- Make use of a face mask while going to public gathering places.

According to the Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia “We should continue our precautionary measures to prevent and control the spread of Covid-19.”
As of March 10, 2020, more than 114,223 people have been infected and over 4,005 have died worldwide from the novel coronavirus, has reached some 80 countries and territories. There are 62,834 recovered from the epidemic disease.
In the Philippines, there are 24 confirmed cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), said by President Duterte.
