NEGROS OCCIDENTAL – Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson set the entire province under enhance community quarantine or “lockdown” for fourteen (14) days to be started on Monday, March 30, 2020.
Lacson announces on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 after a consensus was made in a meeting with local chief executives and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer.
When asked when to start the lockdown of the province, he replied nothing is definite yet.
“As to the date, nothing is definite, there is no reason to panic,” he said.
He also assured the public that even if the province is placed under lockdown, food supply will be available as well as medicines and other essentials and the cargoes will continue. According to Lacson, one person in every family will be allowed to go out.
“But I would like to assure the public that even if we have to go through that, food supply will be available. There will be one person from each house who will be allowed to go out. We will make sure that cargoes will continue, medicines and other essentials will be available as well,” he added.
The governor of Negros Occidental Province said the enhance community quarantine means stricter implementation of quarantine to be implemented in all households as they believed that keeping people in the house is the solution.
“The solution really is to keep people in their houses so that the COVID-19 will not find a new host through us individually,” he said.
Prayer is still the best way to do in times of crisis like this.
