The Department of Education (DepEd) ordered on Friday that all public elementary schools will conduct their final examinations on Monday and Tuesday (March 16 and 17) following the suspension of classes by the local government units across the region due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The DepEd Bicol chief Gilbert Sadsad has issued a memorandum circular on Friday directing all school superintendents to all public elementary schools to conduct the final examinations to all grade school levels.
This is a precautionary measure against the possible transmission of the disease to students and teachers that is why they need to shorten the school calendar in public Elementary schools.
DepEd chief Sadsad said that after the elementary grade learners took their final examination. The students will no longer report to school. But they will be going to prepare other school requirements and stay at home
After that, the teachers and school officials would be on call whenever they are needed.
The memo circular would also apply to public schools for the early order in the suspension of classes.
