What is circulating today in the city of smile is that, there are 69 confirmed cases of Coronavirus and the city is under alert level 2 of the health advisory.
An advisory post regarding the confirmed coronavirus in Bacolod City is making round in social media prompting the netizens in the western Visayas to worry and panic as it is said in the advisory that there are 69 confirmed cases of 2019-nCoV patient under the state of quarantine in the hospital.
According to the Philnews.ph website, the advisory post was coming from a certain Lyka E Montañez the netizen responsible of posting the advisory which using the letter head of Riverside Medical Center Inc. saying that as of 8:00 AM on January 29, 2020, the 2019-nCoV has already spreading in the area and it is under the health advisory alert level 2.
The alleged advisory claimed that there are 69 confirmed cases on quarantine in the hospital and the city of Bacolod is under alert level 2.
To be fair with Montañez, she was actually asking also the opinion of the netizens whether the post is legitimate or not. The said advisory post went viral in social media and shared in some other micro-blogsites.
However, the management of Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital (Riverside Medical Center, Inc.) clarifies the issue that the advisory informing the public about the 69 confirmed cases and the city is under alert level 2 is a “fake” news. The management also issued another advisory refuting the fake news and gives their official statement and warning to the public that everyone must be alert and rely only to the reliable news issued from their official page.
