Super Typhoon Lawin Leaves PAR , now Heads to China

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) gives updates as of 5:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016, that Typhoon Lawin is not dangerous anymore and will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

The eye of Typhoon Lawin as of 4:00 p.m. yesterday, was located at 240 km West Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte at 19.2°N, 118.6°E.  Lawin has weakened up to 130 kph near the center and gustiness up to 160 kph.  It is estimated to move Northwest at 22 kph.

PAGASA has lower the cyclone warnings as Typhoon Lawin with international name Haima left the Luzon areas and continues its way to China.  Lawin may leave the country by Thursday evening.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 is still on effect over some areas like Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Abra where they can expect winds of up to 60 kph within the next 36 hours due to the lingering effects of Typhoon Lawin.

It has been reported that Super Typhoon Lawin destroys Northern Luzon areas.
