Our President Duterte has made his revelation during his visit in China. He stated that he was denied a US Visa way back in college in plan of visiting her girlfriend. According to Trisha Macas on GMA News Online earlier, Duterte had rant out and complained how Filipinos have a hard time visiting the US, while Americans are visa-free.
In another side, the Chief Executive asked him some probabilities of what would happen if ever he marry and stay in the US. Duterte remembered his respond and brought cheers to crowds and viewers saying, Sabi ko, ‘Mr. Consul, even if you offer me free visas for a lifetime and even if you offer me 10,000 dollars, I’d still return to my country and be a Filipino,”
As he shared his experience, he also shared some experience of the local government officials who was denied though asked to an event by the US government itself.
“The poor man had to travel. He was in poor health. Pagdating dito [US Embassy], he was denied. Pero sila anytime. They enter the Philippines visa-free. Well, there will always be a time for reckoning. Bakit hindi natin tablahin?”
