With millions of copies shared online of the well recommend movie “Train to Busan”, one of the film’s local distributor announced on Facebook that they are tracking down persons and sue violators involved in video piracy.
Though the post was deleted long before, Facebook page EV Learners has got a copy of a screenshot from a Facebook user, Jeffrey Claude Palma. In the post, Rafaella Films International believes that Palma is said to be part of the Philippine distributor of “Train to Busan”.
According to Palma, he is warning all Filipino netizens that Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 or Cyber Crime Law is now in action and every individual involved for downloading, sharing movies, videos, music and other copyrighted files can now be sued. He added, that acquiring such copyrighted files or digital copy is punishable under the Cybercrime law with a fine of Php 200,000 (US$4,470) to 500,000 (US$11,175) with six to twenty years in prison.
Palma ended his post with cautions with no hesitation to sue violators or to those who distributed pirated copies of the film on Facebook and other social media sites.
