Tropical Storm Lester is now a hurricane according to NHC on Friday, August 26, 2016.
The storm Lester on the coast of Northwest Mexico becomes a hurricane according to the US National Hurricane Center. On 0300 GMT bulletin of NHC, the center of the tropical storm is located some 550 miles (885 kilometers) southwest of the southern tip of Baja California and with sustaining winds of 75 miles (120 kilometers) per hour.
Hurricane Lester was declared the 12th named storm and the 6th hurricane in eastern Pacific. It continues to intensify at a speed of nine miles or 15 kilometers per hour but no declared threat to any land area as of now.
Lester is moving in the direction of west Pacific and is expected to be in Hawaiian Island next week. No coastal warning was announced. The hurricane will continue moving to the west for the next five days.
The force wind of Lester was raised to 35 kilometers from the center and 150 kilometers for outward wind. This will continue and it is expected to intensify for the next coming days according to forecast.
