Atty. Howard Calleja the legal counsel of Deniece Cornejo explained the reason why there’s no family appearance to support his client in her case.
Atty. Howard Calleja, in an interview with ANC’s Headstart” said that his client, the model Deniece Cornejo requested for the privacy of her parents not to be involved with regards to her case charges versus the TV comedian host Vhong Navarro.
Atty. Howard Calleja also revealed that Deniece Cornejo’s father is working abroad as OFW and she don’t want to be bothered for his work. Some of the family members are also in abroad and those who are here are just there, but it does not mean that if they are not seen in the television to support her in the case meant to be that they don’t care enough for her, Atty. Howard Calleja, said.
The model Deniece Cornejo on Wednesday have finalized her complaint and filed a charges against the TV hosts and actor Vhong Navarro. The following day, the comedian actor also filed a criminal charges versus Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee and six other in relation to Navarro’s mauling incident that took place on the night of Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the condo unit in Fort Bonifacion, Taguig City.
The formal complaint of Deniece Cornejo as it was stipulated in her affidavit, the model claimed that she was forced by the actor to perform oral ‘6’ on him and tried to insert her private part to hers, Cornejo said that by miracle she was rescued by businessman Cedric Lee and his company.
The Comedian actor Vhong Navarro strongly denied the allegation but instead, the Navarro claimed that he was a victim of extortion. Navarro said that he was blindfolded, tied up and attacked by at least six men headed by Cedric Lee.
Vhong Navarro filed charges against Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo, and six other that includes Berniece Lee the sister of Cedric with “unlawful arrest, serious physical injuries, grave threat, grave coercion, blackmail and serious illegal detention – which is a non-billable offense.
As the controversy becomes the talk of the media and social networking sites, people are getting interested to know why there is no family member to support Deniece Cornejo in her case against Vhong Navarro.
Atty. Howard Calleja replied that Cornejo’s family absence on television does not mean that his client has no support from her family.
“May mga tao na ayaw mo lang magpa-TV, ‘diba? But it doesn’t mean na in my office or any other place that we see them or meet them and that we see the support of the family… All I’m saying is that they would like their privacy to be maintained, and that, we respect,” he said.
