Eric Quizon revealed the true reason why he chose not to have his own family. Eric Quizon is one of the handsome and talented actors who gained popularity in the 80s and 90s. He is one of the children of the legendary Comedy King Dolphy. In an interview with Ogie Diaz in January, the two discussed the actor’s life as a single person at the age of 56.

Eric confessed that before his father passed away, he had contemplated having a child through surrogacy. This means he wouldn’t get married; he simply wanted to have his own child. However, this plan didn’t push through due to the sudden demise of his father, Dolphy.

Afterward, he was tasked with being the executor of their father’s estate. He managed the properties left by his father, and the earnings were distributed among their 18 siblings. He was entrusted by his siblings to handle such matters, making it a significant responsibility on his part.

Because of this, he decided not to pursue building his own family and having a child through surrogacy due to being busy with work. He is also the talent head of Star Center at NET 25, where he oversees the careers of 32 aspiring artists. According to Eric, the artists under his care are like his own children, and at times, he feels like a stage father to them.

In addition to his professional responsibilities, Eric also mentioned something that surprised netizens. He and Aiko Melendez were once an item. They became close to each other, and there was a point where he wanted to court her. However, one thing stopped him – their significant age gap. They had a 9-year age difference, and instead of pursuing an intimate relationship, he decided to remain friends with the actress.
