John Manhilot, the Pinoy actor’s nephew, sold a set of Muro-ami goggles for P1 million.
The film “Muro-Ami,” produced by Marilou Diaz-Abaya, is an intriguing and interesting look at the harsh reality of the Philippine fishing business. The film, which was released in 1999, depicts the sacrifices and challenges of young fishermen as they engage in the risky practice of muro-ami.
The film highlights the difficult situations these young boys face, such as physical abus3, dangerous working surroundings, and the impact on their education. The film was nominated for various awards, including Best Picture at the 1999 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Recently, John Manhilot, Cesar Montano’s nephew, approached Jayson Luzadas, known as Boss Toyo of Pinoy Pawnstars, and offered the Muro-ami googles for P1.5 million. However, the YouTuber sought confirmation from the actor.
Montano unexpectedly raised his offer to P300,000. Despite continuous talks, Manhilot kept to himself and established his final price at P1 million.
Luzadas looked to purchase the item for P800,000, but Montano eventually decided to get it for P1 million, winning the auction.
