Chot Reyes said he is stepping down as Gilas Pilipinas head coach. “It is time to step aside,” Reyes said following the Philippines’ 96-75 win over China on Saturday.

Chot: “Through all the preparation, I always said judge us on this performance in the World Cup.
Obviously we did not perform. I take full accountability. Because of that I think it is time for me to step aside.
I hate using “resign.”

“I am NOT a quitter. I signed up to do a job and we did not deliver the result so I think it’s time to step aside and allow the SBP to make a decision for the good of the team/program.”
