The K-Pop lover and her family featured in Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (KMJS) got fire on social media following netizens found they were identified as “mayaman”.
On March 5, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) shared the tale of ‘Bea,’ who cheated her grandmother out of approximately P2-M to buy Korean idol merch. Bea’s story went viral on social media, grabbing the interest of the K-Pop audience.
‘Agnes,’ Bea’s grandmother, voiced her disapproval with her granddaughter’s behavior, claiming that they are already suffering. They are not wealthy, she says, which explains why she’s worried over her grandchild’s behavior toward her.
Other people on social media claimed to have discovered that the alleged K-Pop fan’s family was not in financial distress.
Other people on social media shared photos of Bea’s family to show that they are not in trouble financially. They also found that Bea intended to become an entrepreneur in the future, apparently to sell K-Pop merchandise.
However, KMJS issued a statement in response to netizens who were critical of them for creating a negative impression of K-Pop products, stating that their intention was simply to educate and warn all of us. They also said that they were take legal action against anybody who criticized their staff who published the Bea post.
