PAGASA, the state weather bureau, is keeping an eye on two low pressure areas (LPAs) inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration published the most recent weather update in the country on Thursday (February 16, 2023). LPAs, troughs, amihans, and localized thunderstorms will all have an impact on the country’s weather.

According to PAGASA, a low-pressure inside PAR has been observed 750 kilometers east of Hinatuan Surigao del Sur. The other, in contrast, is 1,340 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, outside PAR.

Over Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and the Zamboanga Peninsula, the LPA trough will bring overcast weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather patterns to the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, and Bicol Region.

Over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Visayas, Amihan will bring partly cloudy to cloudy sky with light rainfall.

Over the rest of Mindanao, localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
