Several internet users have petitioned the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board to stop the release of Darryl Yap’s movie “Martyr or Murderér.”

Darryl Yap wrote and directed Martyr or Murderér in 2023. VinCentiments and Viva Films are producing it.

The film, a sequel to Maid in Malacañang (2022), recounts Ninoy Aquino’s assassination on August 21, 1983, three years before the events in MiM, and describes how the Marcoses were suspected of being responsible for his déath.

MoM actors and actresses are Cesar Montano as Ferdinand Marcos, Marco Gumabao as young Ferdinand Marcos, Cristine Reyes as Imee Marcos, Eula Valdez as present-day Imee Marcos, Diego Loyzaga as Bongbong Marcos, Ella Cruz as Irene Marcos, Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Marcos, Cindy Miranda as young Imelda Marcos, Isko Moreno as Ninoy Aquino, Jerome Ponce as young Ninoy Aquino, Giselle Sanchez as Corazon Aquino.

The film is set to be released this year. Nonetheless, several internet users asked the MTRCB to stop the showing of Darryl Yap’s movie in Philippine theaters.
