Hussein said in Maki Pulido’s report on 24 Oras yesterday, November 30, 2022, that he does not have “hard feelings” with Pacquiao, but he is angry about Padilla’s alleged cheating.
If only Padilla had not prolonged the fight, he stated, “I would’ve won because it would’ve been a knockout.”
Padilla, he said, should be held accountable for his actions.
He stated, “He should be held accountable. He shouldn’t be in any Hall of Fame because he’s not a credible referee. He’s a cheat.”
Meanwhile, Pacquiao stated in an ABS-CBN News interview yesterday that he did not cheat in his fight with Hussein in 2000, which he won.
“Hindi man daya. Pinaboran lang tayo, pabor lang siguro siyempre home court. As a boxer, ginawa ko lang naman yung tama. the former senator said. “As a boxer, ginawa ko lang naman yung tama.”
“Ako naman, boxer lang ako. Ginagawa ko lang yung trabaho ko sa taas ng ring.
“That’s his problem, not mine,” he added, referring to Padilla’s admitted “cheating.”
Manny was only twenty-one at the time and was advancing in his boxing career.
