Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019. (COVID-19).

The K-pop artist suffered from symptoms, according to a statement from SM Entertainment.

“She received a positive result on the self-test kit she administered after feeling symptoms of poor condition from the previous day, so this morning, she took a rapid antigen test,” it said.

According to the company, Taeyeon has already ceased all scheduled activities and is currently quarantined. It also stated that they will continue to abide to safety protocols.

“With our artist’s health and safety being priority, we will do everything we can so she can focus on treatment and recovery,” it added.
