Vina Morales dazzled at New York Fashion Week as she walked the runway for an advocacy event to benefit prisoners and indigenous tribes in Davao del Norte.
As seen on her Instagram page yesterday, Sept. 14, the singer strutted down the runway in a green Joy Soo dress with a colorful corset and John Cloma beadwork, paired with a colorful floral headpiece.
“Taken at the Runway for the New York Fashion Week for MUSA event by my dear friend designer [Joy Soo]. Happy to support this advocacy,” she replied to a fan.
She then revealed some “trivia” about herself that makes the event especially meaningful to her: her great-great grandmother, who married an American soldier, was from Davao del Sur’s Tagakaulo tribe. She stated this in an Instagram post today, September 15.
“Such an honor to do the grand finale walk at the New York Fashion Week of Musa event for a good cause. The Musa Advocacy that I am supporting helps the prisoners and indigenous tribes in Davao del Norte to have better lives,” she stated.
Morales was praised by actress Teresa Loyzaga, TV and radio host Amy Perez, and TV writer Darla Sauler.
Morales is currently in the United States, performing solo shows in a number of cities. She also appeared in some theaters in California with American musician Jim Brickman in July and August of last year.
