With assistance from fellow singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, Moira Dela Torre has finished a new painful song about being abandoned.
The “Malaya” singer thanked Alcasid on her Facebook page Friday, Sept. 20, as she shared how she finished the new song.
“Finished another song at the Alcasids last night [with] the help of my tito (uncle) Ogie Alcasid who humbly asked me ‘may I?’ and played the piano for me,” Dela Torre was alluding to Alcasid’s house, which he shares with his wife, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.
Dela Torre may be seen playing a piano by herself at first, until she is joined by Alcasid, who takes over the instrument to assist her.
“Saan ka na? / Hintayin ba kita? / Parang di naman lumaban / Pwede bang paniwalaan na merong iba? / Ano ba ang aking halaga?” Moira sang.
Dela Torre described working with Alcasid as a “dream” and thanked his “Idol Philippines” co-judge Chito Miranda and his wife Neri Naig, who were present at the time in the Alcasid residence, for their support.
As of this writing, Dela Torre has yet to divulge the title of the new song or whether a studio recording will be published.
Dela Torre made news earlier this year after divorcing her husband, composer Jason Marvin Hernandez, who also admitted to cheating on her.
Months after their breakup, Hernandez produced a song about remorse, which fans assume is about his breakup with Dela Torre.
Meanwhile, Dela Torre has denied that her song “Babalik sa ‘Yo” is a “sign” of her reconciliation with Hernandez. Fans were reminded that “Babalik sa ‘Yo” is simply a song and that they should not be “marupok.”
