The Bacolod Yuhum Foundation Inc. (BYFI), organizer of the MassKara Festival 2022, announced the official candidates to members of the Bacolod media:

The Miss Bacolod MassKara 2022 contest, according to Carlos Durana, is a redesigned beauty for this year’s event. Miss MassKara has been the title of the MassKara Festival from its inception, and it was later changed to MassKara Queen.
“As we mark a new era, under the administration of Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, our festival organizer decided to rebrand our festival queen title,” Durana stated.
“More than a MassKara Queen, our winners also carry the name of Bacolod City. When our winners take on the bigger stage in national pageants, we want to take pride that these beauties are proudly Bacolodnons.” he added.
Miss Bacolod MassKara-Universe will earn a cash reward of P150,000, Miss Bacolod MassKara-World will receive a prize of P100,000, and Miss Bacolod MassKara-International will receive a prize of P80,000. The first and second runners-up will each get P50,000 and P30,000.
The pre-pageant night, which will feature the festival and talent displays, will take place on October 9.
The royal coronation will take place on October 19 at the University of Saint La Salle-Bacolod coliseum.
