The adored actress married Miguel Cuunjieng and relocated to the US last year after leaving the Philippines.

Yam claims that, unlike in the Philippines, where she had a housekeeper, she does not have one in New York.

Because of this, she is in charge of preparing meals, putting together furniture, and maintaining the cleanliness of their apartment.

“Obviously, you do things here without help. So I cook, I assemble different pieces of furniture out here. And I also make sure that our apartment is clean. All those stuff,” Yam said.

Yam has also grown accustomed to using New York’s excellent transportation system, which she called great. Yam didn’t commute back to the Philippines because she had a driver here.

“Before, I’m used to having a driver. I’m not used to commuting but the transportation system here in New York is great. I love it and I feel more comfortable using the subway now,” she stated.

The former Kapamilya celebrity also expressed her admiration for New York’s rich and varied culture and art.

Yam never gets bored in the city because of the numerous and varied events that take place there. She also enjoys going through the various seasons in the US.

“I feel like New York is very diverse. It’s very rich in culture and art. There’s always something happening, always something to do. You really won’t get bored. And I love that now, I get to experience all of the seasons,” she explained.
