Hidilyn Diaz and Julius Naranjo posted their prenup video ahead of their wedding today, and it’s everything.
The movie, shot by Mayad Studios, begins with weightlifting, of course, and shows Hidilyn’s tough preparation as well as her victorious moment, capturing the Philippines’ first-ever gold medal in the Olympics, with Julius by her side.
The video then cuts to the working together within Baguio’s magnificent mountains, reaching a height and presenting the duo staring out into the horizon side by side. It’s a lovely metaphor for what they’re about to embark on together.
While everything at that moment is goosebump-inducingly somber, scenes of joyful delight follow. The duo was out in nature, one guiding the other, laughing and smiling.
“Hidilyn and I have been through a lot these last 5 years and I’d be lying if I said our journey was easy,” Julius said on Instagram.
“Whether it’d be chasing a [gold medal] in the Olympics, to discovering Malaysia through the pandemic, one thing has been a constant: our ability to understand and support each other through thick & thin,” he concluded.
“So here we are, and here’s to forever,” Julius said, adding the sweetest wedding hashtag, #TheWeightIsOver.
Hidilyn and Julius are expected to marry Thursday afternoon in Baguio, one year after Hidilyn won the Philippines’ first-ever Olympic gold medal.
The couple had a welcoming party for their guests before the ceremony.
