The online scene of DJ Loonyo and Janine Berdin after a contentious meme emerged on social media.
DJ Loonyo was offended by Janine’s reportedly insensitive joke when she used a meme about him as her Facebook cover photo.
The DJ and dancer shared an image of Janine’s Facebook page, where you can see the meme regarding the petition to rename NAIA “DJ Loonyo International Airport.”
According to the petition’s title, “DJ is the only hero (hawak bayag dance step).”
He wrote a private message to Janine based on the screenshots given by the DJ, “Ma’am sorry (praying emoji). May natitira pa po ba kayong respeto? may nagawa ba ako sayong mali?”
Janine responded to DJ Loonyo’s message,
“Hala kuya. Hello po! It’s really just a meme that I found super funny. I found it online. I didn’t really mean any harm.
“Ano po kaya context ng meme? i just thought it meant to change the name of the airport to you like poking fun,” she explained.
“Like poking fun. Super random hahaha. Really didn’t mean any harm! I don’t think people found it degrading to you as well po! But if you want I could always take it down, Kuya!” She added.
DJ Loonyo, on the other hand, seemed to be more interested in Janine’s argument since he uploaded their message exchange on Facebook.
According to DJ Loonyo, “Nakakatakot yung utak ng mga gantong tao (thumb’s down emoji). Pag kayo ginanyan ISSUE, HEADLINE AND BASH AGAD.
“Katuwaan? Tapos binabash and pinagttripan yung taong involved?
“@janineberdin Ur better than that for sure. Godbless your soul. Weird sh*t,”
DJ Loonyo continued, “Kung wala kayong magawa, pagtripan niyo sarili niyo wag ibang tao… Maging sensitive tayo minsan, di natin alam pinagdadaanan ng isa’t isa satin.
“In-expect ko yung mga matagal na or kahit papano nauna sa industriya ay kahit papano alam ang ‘RESPETO NA LANG SANA’.
“Pero para katuwaan, sigeeee, Go lang, kahit iba na yung napuntahan ng KATUWAAN.
“Weird sh*t!!! PANGALAN MO SAYO YUNG AIRPORT, Baka ikaw yung may gusto hindi ako,” he said.
Following this, Janine posted on Instagram Story and responded to DJ Loonyo’s Facebook post of their private conversation.
She insisted that he had no ill-will in publishing DJ Loonyo’s meme, “People use my name to poke fun all the time as well. Hell people talk shit and laugh at me as well.
“I’m not saying that’s what the meme was doing kasi it wasn’t meant to be degrading at all.. but yeah! It’s what comes along when you’re a public figure. no big! smile po kayo!”
