The 37-year-old Heart Evangelista described the experience of auditioning for and being found on ABS-CBN, her former home network.
He said that his family did not support his acting career. Additionally, he claimed that someone had foretold his decline in fame.
Heart was released in 2001 as a part of Star Circle Batch 9.
However, he had a bad audition before that.
He claimed that Heart had had aspirations of being an actress.
Only her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, was aware of her audition since her family didn’t want to.
His ability was recognized by Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan, a co-founder of ABS-Star CBN’s Magic, which manages talent.
“I lined up in front of Mr. M…
“And before we even lined up in front of him, there were a lot of being axed because hindi ka pumasa sa next ganito, ganyan…
Heart shares his YouTube video on April 10, 2022, “So, I lined up…”
“Mr. M was there standing in front of me [sa] Star Magic office iyan.
“And he said, ‘You, come forward.’
“So, I came forward and he says, ‘What’s your name?’ Heart said.
“And he said, ‘Can you sing?’”
Heart performed The Bangles’ “Eternal Flame” despite not being a vocalist.
“And then I got a call back. We went through months and months of workshops.”
Their group is growing smaller and smaller as the courses go on, “till we were launched for Star Circle Batch 9.”
In June 2001, the 28 candidates of Star Cicle Batch 9 were introduced.
Angel Locsin, Alwyn Uytingco, Lloyd Zaragoza, Cherry Lou, Janus del Prado, and Rafael Rosell are all classmates of Heart.
