Billie Eilish is back with new songs after headlining major music festivals and taking home prestigious prizes.
The two new songs, “TV” and “The 30th,” were published under the two-song EP titled “Guitar Songs” and are now accessible on all music streaming services.
“[T]hese songs mean so much to me, and Billie said on Instagram, “”[I] am so happy for them to be yours,”
During the Manchester leg of her Happier Than Ever Tour, Billie made “TV” public for the first time in June, accompanied on acoustic guitar by her brother and bandmate FINNEAS.
When Billie plays in Manila on August 13, do these songs belong on her setlist?
The group made their debut with the first song, “TV,” at Eilish’s June show in Manchester. With the lines, “And I’ll be in denial for at least a little while/What about the plans we made?/The internet’s gone wild watching movie stars on trial/While they’re overturning Roe v. Wade,” Eilish references the Supreme Court’s previous Roe v. Wade decision.
About the new tracks, Eilish and Finneas have issued a press release. Here they are, “Finneas and I really wanted these to be yours as soon as possible.” According to the singer’s statement to Pitchfork, “Performing “TV” on tour was such a highlight for us too, so we took the audio from the first night we played it in Manchester and put it in the song,” the singer wrote per Pitchfork,” “I hope you love the songs and thank you for letting us share our music with you,” the band member said. “I get shivers every time I hear it.”
