Edward Barber, a Filipino-British actor and broadcaster, has disclosed that he hopes to become a preacher someday.

Edward John Abellera Barber, a Filipino-British actor and host, rose to popularity in 2016 after appearing in ABS-CBN’s reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7, where he finished fourth.

Edward began his cinematic career as the lead in the rom-com ‘Loving in Tandem,’ and he is also renowned for his love team with Kapamilya actress Maymay Entrata. People adore them since their relationship is based on friendship.

Edward Barber said to Star Magic Inside News that he found his life meaning outside of the entertainment industry after attending a Church ministry. Every Saturday, he currently looks forward to helping in his church ministry.

“Nahanap ko yung balance sa buhay ko sa labas ng industry at yung ginagawa ko sa loob ng industry. May mga bagay na I’m not willing to sacrifice it or mas importante yun kesa yung job here and there sa loob ng industry,” Edward stated.

During the interview, Edward Barber revealed that he wants to be a pastor one day. He said, “I love ABS-CBN. I love my family here. But at the end of the day, it is work. And I have other people that I love too outside…I wanna be in a ministry which is not a priest [but] a pastor. Maybe one day,” he admitted.

Despite his desire to become a preacher in the future, Edward claimed that he has no urgent intentions to leave the field. He hopes to continue working as an actor since he appreciates what he does.

“This is still something that I love. This is something that I’ll be doing for a time but that’s [Church ministry] just one of my desires. That one day, to be part of a ministry,” Edward stated.
