Shanon Tampon, a Philippine woman, came in first runner-up in the Miss Elite pageant held recently in Soma Bay, Egypt, and nearly won the country’s first Miss Elite crown.

Shanon, the country’s first participant in the contest, also took home the titles of Miss Elite Asia and Best in Evening Gown.

India’s Deep Supriyam bested 36 candidates and won the Miss Elite 2022 title, succeeding Mexico’s Fernanda Pumar.

Valerie Sizova of Austria was the second runner-up, followed by Yanuaria Verde of Venezuela.

Shanon has previously competed in pageants such as Mutya ng Pilipinas, Miss Philippines Earth, and Binibining Pilipinas.
