The Catholic Church’s Supreme Pontiff sent a greeting to incoming Philippine President Bongbong Marcos.
The present administration’s six-year mandate has come to a close. President-elect Bongbong Marcos will take the oath of office as the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines at noon, beginning his presidential administration. The event will take place in Manila’s National Museum.
After receiving almost 31 million votes in the 2022 elections, Marcos easily topped the other nine (9) presidential hopefuls. Many political parties and local government leaders backed the presidential candidacy of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard bearer.
Today’s inauguration of President-elect Bongbong Marcos is scheduled to bring together his family, cabinet members, and key government officials. Foreign officials and representatives are anticipated to attend as well.
Pope Francis addressed a greeting to the Philippines’ new president, Bongbong Marcos, ahead of his inauguration. The statement was delivered by the Supreme Pontiff through Archbishop Charles John Brown, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines.
According to ABS-CBN News, Pope Francis offered his greetings and warm wishes to incoming Philippine President Bongbong Marcos. He promised him that he would be praying for him as well as the Filipinos.
“In assuring you of my prayers that you will be sustained in wisdom and strength, I invoke Almighty God’s blessing of peace and prosperity upon the nation,” the Pope remarked.
Archbishop Charles John Brown, the Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, allegedly promised Marcos Jr. of the Catholic Church’s support when he assumes responsibilities as President of the Philippines. He is anticipated to attend today’s inauguration.
