A call center employee who fell from a RoRo vessel was recovered by local fisherman after floating in the middle of the sea for 5 hours.
MICHAEL JOHN BALSOMO – A fisherman saved a call center employee who fell from a RoRo sailboat.
RoRo stands for roll-on / roll-off, and it refers to a vessel designed to transport wheeled goods such as automobiles, vans, trailers, buses, and trucks.
The RoRo differs from the majority of other cargo ships in that it does not require the use of cranes. Instead, the cars it transports may be driven on and off the ship using a ramp.
Some of us may have been aboard a RoRo vessel as passengers, tourists, or truck drivers, to mention a few.
Apparently, a call center employee traveling to Bacolod recently fell from a RoRo vessel.
Michael John Balsomo, of Balicotoc, Ilog, Negros Occidentales, was on board a RoRo vessel when he wanted to get some fresh air.
He did, however, fall past the rails and into the water.
Balsomo had been floating in the middle of the water for around five (5) hours.
Fortunately, he was located by fisherman in Polo Bilo, which is around 10 kilometers from the beach of Barangay Punta Taytay.
He was rescued and sent to the barangay hall, where he received medical attention.
Meanwhile, the event reminds us that accidents may happen at any time, whether we are at home or on the road.
