First rollout will be in Mindanao, in honor of its parent firm Mindanao Islamic Telephone (Mislatel). Dito Telecommunity officials hold a media briefing a day after the National Telecommunications Commission announced they passed their first technical audit: We are ready for our March rollout.

DITO chief administrative officer Adel Tamano said they would first start offering their mobile services in 17 cities and municipalities in Mindanao, and then scale up to areas in Visayas and Luzon.

Dito vows to deliver 27 megabits per second of internet speed, covering 37 percent of the country’s population in its first year of operations.

PLDT Inc. and new telco player DITO Telecommunity Corp. have signed an interconnection deal to enable both their subscribers to communicate in their networks.
