A Department of Transportation (DOTr) official hit back at actress Angelica Panganiban’s tweet telling unnamed government officials not to sleep on their jobs as typhoon Rolly pounded Bicol and parts of Luzon on Sunday.
In a Facebook post of DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddess Hope Libiran, “Ma’am, wala pa nga po kami halos tulog. 😅Alam n’yo po ba ang dapat ginagawa kung may nararanasang kalamidad ang bayan? BAYANIHAN po, hindi HILAAN PABABA. Just saying. Hindi po ako galit. Puyat lang.”
According to Libiran, “Personnel from the Aviation Force of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conduct an aerial inspection of Catanduanes via the agency’s Islander plane today, 02 November 2020.”
She added, “The said mission is part of the overall government response which aims to assess and examine the current condition of the province after it was devastated by Typhoon Rolly, which first made landfall in Bato, Catanduanes yesterday. The PCG contingent in Catanduanes was deployed early today. Two more helicopter missions from the PCG are likewise expected to arrive in the province.”
