Angel Locsin Replies to Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr.: “Hindi po ako parte ng NPA” Stop Red-tagging

Actress Angel Locsin issued statement on Twitter to answer back Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. on the issue on red-tagging connecting the actress to her sister Ella Colmenares and her uncle Bayan Muna chairperson Neri Colmenares allegedly claiming as they’re member to the New People’s Army (NPA) group.

It can be remembered on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 when Parlade, who is chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Southern Luzon Command and also a member of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Insurgency (NTF-ELCAC), mentioned Colmenares’ name when he gives advice to the celebrity actress Liza Soberano allegedly involving her on the women’s right group.

But the real issue focus on the sister of Angel Locsin, Ella Colmenares the reason she comes out and explained her side that she said she did not defend herself but she comes out to speak to clarify issue that could affect her life and her family being placed in danger with the red-tagging incident.

“I do not have to defend myself as I have not done anything wrong but I decided to speak up, not just for myself but also for my children, whose lives may have been endangered because of this reckless red-tagging being broadcasted on social media,” Ella Colmenares said in her statement.

“Yes, I believe in the protection of women’s rights and human rights, the same advocacies that Angel and Neri fight for, but so do millions of Filipinos across the country.  That doesn’t mean that I’m a member of the NPA as what is being claimed,” she added.

Because of this, the 35-year-old actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin took to her social media account in Twitter to issue official statement concerning the issue involving her claiming that she was aware about the activity of her sister Ella and Uncle Neri.

The actress strongly denies that she is involved on the CPP-NPA activities and calling the attention of the concern parties to stop red-tagging.

She clarifies that when it comes to the point that we have different viewpoint on the matter it does not mean that she is already in the “red.” She also said that it does not mean that because we look things differently on the issue, it will be counted then as enemy.
