Dr. Joel Mendez, cosmetic dermatologist in Cagayan de Oro City was arrested by the police officer on Sunday, September 13, 2020 in the ground of rape case.

Police Regional Office 10-PBGen Rolando B. Anduyan, Regional Director confirmed the report that a Cosmetic Surgeon was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued in Cagayan de Oro City last February 4, 2020 by Hon. Joanne G. Hernandez-Lazo, Presiding Judge, RTC-National Capital Judicial Region, Branch 5-FC, Mandaluyong City.

On the police record, Mendez was arrested in 2018 for attempted rape and 2-counts of rape but Mendez was able to post a bail. But at this time of his arrest, Mendez is no longer allowed to put a bail. The case is in connection with molesting a minor and a model inside his clinic, Skinology Spa and Wellness Center.

Mendez is now in the temporary custody of the Maharlika detention cell and will be forwarded to Metro Manila in order to face before the court that issued his warrant of arrest.
