Many have claimed that Dr. Elisa Garnato, a microbiologist who volunteered for the trial of COVID-19 vaccine in the UK, died approximately two (2) days after the vaccine.
Dr. Elisa was working in the University’s Zoology department and was the first person to be vaccinated in the trial. She also stated that she got randomly chosen for the vaccine. “To make things more complicated, I got randomly chosen to be the first person to be vaccinated.”
The UK COVID-19 vaccine trial was started on April 23, 2020. They conducted a blind clinical trial wherein the patients would not know about the treatment that they would be receiving.
The widespread of this claim was denied saying that the Dr. Elisa is very much alive. The Department of Health and Social Care released an announcement to confirm that the microbiologist did not pass away.
Fergus Walsh, a BBC News reporter, also confirmed that Dr. Elisa was alive. He also shared a video clip of Dr. Elisa, who is alive and well few days after being vaccinated.
Oxford University also posted regarding the fake news that had been circulating on the media.
They wrote, “We are aware there have been and will be rumours and false reports about the progress of the trial. We urge people not to give these any credibility and not to circulate them. We will not be offering a running commentary about the trial but all official updates will appear on this site.”
