Cavite Governor Jovnic Remulla is making appeal to the people to give a little compassion to the barangay officials who were caught doing immoral act during the Zoom meeting.

As to recall, the two barangay officials in Bargangay Fatima Dos, Dasmariñas, Cavite involved in a controversial issue, the making love of the barangay captain Jesus Estil and his treasurer who is a wife of his “kumpare” caught on camera during the Zoom meeting that was available for viewing with the residence and barangay officials.

Remulla clarifies that he is not defending the wrong actions of the officials as he know it was an act of ignorance and inexcusable. But what he was trying to appeal is for the concern people to give them a little compassion.

What Governor Remulla was saying is in line with the popular quote that says “to err is human, but to forgive is divine.”

I am sure the families involved are wounded and hurting deeply. Dala nila ang kahihiyan na ito habang buhay (They will carry this shame for life). The humiliation alone is enough punishment for those involved,” he pointed out.

According to the news published by the Inquirer, Remulla did not intend to lecture the people about morality.

“Let those who are perfect in every way judge another’s act. Let those who have never sinned be the first to render an opinion”, he said.

In addition, Remulla also cited the attitude of the Filipino people who love so much of the gossiping issues like of this one that sometimes even small mistake could lead to a longer gossip in the town that last for many days.

Remulla also explained that this attitude of the Filipino is the reason there are many don’t succeed because instead of giving their time and focus to something beneficial, yet people prioritize gossip.

However, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) commits to conduct investigation in order to give proper charges to the said violation as signatory campaign filed against them by the constituent of the barangay.
